This Thanksgiving…

  •  I’m thankful for the smell of turkey cooking in the crockpot, apples and onions sizzling on the stove in preparation for my first from-scratch dressing (recipe from Pioneer Woman).
  • I’m thankful for my dad, who washes dishes for me after supper, even when he’s tired.
  • I’m thankful for my mom, who puts up with my unique tastes in home decor.  🙂
  • I’m thankful for my little brother–who’s going to be taller than me in another month or two!  He’s a great hunting guide, even though he constantly confuses me.  One minute he says, “Come on, keep up with me!” Thirty seconds later he says, “Slow down, we’re hunting!”  🙂
  • I’m thankful for a sister who signs her e-mails “HUGS”; a big brother who wins almost every competition he enters, yet still takes time to advise me on my own speeches;  a brother-in-law who eats lots of chicken pot pie even when it doesn’t turn out quite right; a sister-in-law who writes the funniest blog posts–I can’t link to her blog, since it’s private, but you would definitely agree with me!
  • I’m thankful for rosebuds in November.
  • I’m thankful for Thanksgiving football–it’s just so wonderfully American!
  • I’m thankful for my friend Theresa…in September we had our last slumber party, in October we celebrated her wedding, and next July she will become a mother.  I am so, so, so excited for her and Trent!  I get to have my first officially adopted niece or nephew (well, okay, not officially adopted, but I’ll still claim that!)!
  • I’m thankful for my friend and cousin Rebekah, and that I get to spend tonight at her house!
  • I’m thankful for my friend Emily, who joins me in all my giggling fits.
  • I’m thankful that I can listen to Christmas music from November 1st to January 31st if I want to!
  • I’m thankful for the people who sang the Hallelujah Chorus in a mall’s food court.
  • I’m thankful for fluffy kitties sitting on the doorstep.
  • And I’m thankful for my two precious nieces, who make me the happiest auntie in the world!

So many wonderful, beautiful, amazing things to be thankful for.Sis-in-law must be Natalie who writes the funniest blogposts? I read a few of hers before they were private and had a few laughs ;)Congrats to Theresa and Trent!! Wow, a baby in July! That is wonderful news! Maybe it will be born on my birthday 😉 I can hope cause I don't know a single soul born on my birthday and yet my sister knows at least 5 born on hers.

What day is your birthday, Samantha? My dad's is July 14th. I feel for you having no one born on your birthday! I do know two people born on my birthday, but I'm related (yes, related!) to THREE people born on April 16th. I just think that's so unfair. 🙂

Sorry to not getting back to your right away. My birthday is July 31st. Jaclynn's is the 30th; yes we have different birthdays! :)My little sis (she's 13) has her birthday on the 9th of July. How fun to be related to 3 people born on your special day. ;)One of my brothers was born a day late after grandpa's birthday on April 12th. But one of my brothers was born on Veterans Day which is also our great great grandmother's birthday! Even more special was that she was still living when he was born in 1994.
