The Last Slumber Party

Last Wednesday night marked our last slumber party with Theresa, who is getting married this Saturday!  And what a wonderful party it was.  Starting at 8:30 that evening, we watched the ’90s version of Father of the Bride.  Although I prefer the Spencer Tracy version, we got a lot of laughs out of it.  Of course, we talked late into the night of all the usual things girls talk about.  Although an imminent wedding is rather unusual, I guess!

After sleeping in till 9:00, we ate a granola breakfast (well, not Rebekah!) in front of an I Love Lucy and went for a walk in the rain.  Singing in the rain as we tromped through the woods, we decided to watch that Gene Kelly movie when we reached the house.  Since our clothes were drenched, we changed back into our PJs, popped some popcorn for lunch, and drank homemade hot chocolate next to the wood fire while watching Singing in the Rain.  We made the decision that Gene Kelly is one of our favorite actors, and that all three of us should have lived in the 1920s.
It’s hard to believe we’ve only known Therese four years.  We’ve shared so many secrets, frustrations, and laughs together.  Even though our slumber parties are over, I’m excited about this new chapter of our friendship.  And I can’t wait to see Theresa become Mrs. Trent Schultz this Saturday!
